LEESBURG, VA (Via Loudoun Soccer) – Loudoun Soccer has announced that Lucas Cook has joined the club’s coaching staff to help oversee the expansion of our programs in the Sterling area.

Cook brings 15 years of coaching and consulting experience within Northern Virginia. He teaches elementary school in Sterling and coaches high school soccer at Dominion High School. He grew up in Sterling, beginning his playing and coaching career there, which will prove a valuable resource for local players and families.

“Lucas brings to the club a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as valuable insight into the Sterling location. With our recent expansion of several programs into the area, it made sense to bring in a wonderful individual such as Lucas,” Loudoun Soccer Technical Director Darryl Gee said on Thursday. “We are pleased to have him on board and look forward to working with him.”

Said Cook, “I am incredibly excited. I have been fortunate enough to get to know many members of the club’s technical staff throughout my coaching career and have the utmost respect for them as both coaches and people. I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to become a member of such a great organization.”

Cook will begin in his position with the club immediately. He will be in attendance at the second Sterling Open House taking place on Sunday, February 8th at Seneca Ridge Middle School (98 Seneca Ridge Dr, Sterling, VA 20164) from 11 AM-2 PM for players and parents interested in playing for Loudoun Soccer.

“I am looking forward to having the opportunity to help promote a love of the game while giving back to a community that helped me discover a passion for soccer, and to help future generations discover the game in the same community that I was able to”, said Cook.

Established in 1978, Loudoun Soccer is Virginia’s largest soccer program. It serves more than 15,000 youth and adult soccer players annually, provides some 2,000 coaches and dozens of soccer-related programs.
