Good Counsel High School coach Jim Bruno joins Potomac SA staff

(Via Potomac Soccer Association) – Potomac Soccer Association has announced that long-time Our Lady of Good Counsel High School coach Jim Bruno will join the girls coaching staff for the 2017-18 seasonal year.

Jim Bruno has been coaching Good Counsel girls soccer for 29 years and has not suffered a losing season. His career record is 446-104-62 through 2016 season with eleven (11) WCAC championships. In 1994, Jim was named the Washington Post’s All Met coach of the year and in 1998 was named the National Private School Girls coach of the year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He was initiated into the Good Counsel Hall of Fame in 2001 and was named the Maryland coach of the year in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2009, 20012 and 2013. He holds both the Premier Diploma and Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

Under his leadership, Good Counsel has made the NSCAA’s national top 25 teams 14 of last 18 years holding down the #1 spot in 2000, 2011 and 2012. Jim is very proud to have at least one first team Washington Post All Met (19) in the past 21 years and had the Post’s player of the year in 1994 (Corey Hewitt), 1997 (Katie Moore), 1998 (Valerie Lawrence), 2005 (Vicki Anagnostopoulos), 2009 (Crystal Koczot), 2011-2012 (Midge Purce) and 2013 (Imani Dorsey).
