FC Dallas Academy U-16s complete unbeaten GA Cup Qualifying weekend
(Via FC Dallas / Carter Baum) – The FC Dallas U-16s completed a perfect weekend at 2017 Generation adidas Cup Qualifying on Monday afternoon with a 7-4 win over previously-undefeated Sporting KC.
After posting 4-1 and 7-0 wins in their opening matches, the FCD attack continued to light it up behind a four-goal performance from forward Jesus Ferreira, bringing his three-game total to 9 goals. Bryan Reynolds added his fifth and sixth goals on the weekend, while Jalen James scored his first of the tournament in the win. The 16s finished the 3 games with 18 goals scored, and just 5 allowed.
Dallas and Toronto FC are now tied for the lead in the Central Region with 3 wins and 9 points each. The two sides will meet in the second round of qualifying in February.
FCD is looking to qualify once again for the 2017 version of the GA Cup, held in Frisco from April 7-15, 2017. Last year Dallas was eliminated in the Semifinal round as the only MLS side to reach the Championship Division Semis.
