ECNL: McLean, FC Virginia next two on slate for Ohio roadtrip

It’s McLean Youth Soccer and FC Virginia’s turn to make the road trip to the Buckeye state this weekend in ECNL play, with both playing a pair of games against Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and Carmel United in the Under-15 through U-18 age groups.
Last week, it was tough going for Virginia Rush and Richmond Strikers as they took on Ohio Premier Eagles and Internationals SC, with Rush and Strikers combining for just one win and two ties on the trip. FC Virginia and McLean, with a number of their clubs near the top of the Mid-Atlantic Conference standings for their respective age groups, figure to have a better time.
U-15s
FC Virginia is atop the U-15 Mid-Atlantic Conference standings at 6-0-0 and has scored 21 goals while giving up none, with nine players having scored goals this season, led by Julia Phillips’s four goals and four assists. Carmel United has won its first two games in league play, while Ohio Elite Soccer Academy is 0-1-1 early on, and McLean is 1-5-1.
U-16s
McLean is 5-1-1 to start the season, having scored 17 goals and given up just four. Mia Hoen-Beck leads McLean with nine goals on the season. Ohio Elite is 2-0-0 in the early going, while Carmel United is 1-0-1 and FC Virginia is 4-2-1, led by Kristina Diana’s four goals and two assists.
U-17s
McLean is 5-1-1 in U-17 play as well, scoring 18 goals while giving up five. Kalla Williams has scored five goals, while Emma Shumway has four for McLean. Ohio Elite and Carmel United are both 1-0-1 to start the season. FC Virginia has struggled so far and is 0-7-0.
U-18s
FC Virginia is second in the conference with a 5-2-0 record, while McLean is 3-4-0. Ohio Elite is 1-1-0 and Carmel United 1-0-1 in the early going.
U-14s
In the only other match this weekend, FC Virginia (6-1-1) takes on Freestate Soccer Alliance (1-8-1). FCV has eight players with at least a goal, led by Gabriella Gordon’s seven goals. Freestate is led by Megan Klink’s four goals,while Kori Locksley has three goals and two assists.
