(Via D.C. United) – D.C. United have announced a partnership with local youth club Ellicott City Soccer Club in an effort to improve player advancement for a professional pathway starting at age 12.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Ellicott city in as a partner club,” Ryan Martin, director of United’s academy, said. “We look forward to working with Tim and Rob Ryerson continue to give players in the Ellicott/Baltimore area a pathway to the professional level. Ellicott City share similar values in player development and methodology and we look forward to building a long term relationship to help players in the area grow.”

Through the partnership, both D.C. United and Elliott City will cooperate to combine and enhance resources for player development and ECSC will host United academy Talent Centers throughout the year. The two teams will have bi-annual scrimmages against each other and United coaching staff will lead educational sessions for Ellicott City coaches.

“The partnership between D.C. United and ECSC is the next step for our players development,” Tim Ryerson, the executive director of ECSC, said. “Now our players can take the next step in their development and go to a professional academy organization in DC United.”

Ellicott City Soccer Club is a high-quality soccer club based in Howard County, Maryland that is dedicated to the development of kids through the game of soccer.
