(Via AC Cugini) – AC Cugini has announced the opening of the new Roma Academy Maryland for male and female players in the Frederick, MD, area.

Building on AC Cugini’s academy program, sanctioned by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI Servizi) and Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC), and affiliated with professional clubs RES Roma (women’s side of AS Roma) and Brescia (men’s), the Roma Academy Maryland program is managed by Director Jim Oman and AC Cugini President and Technical Director Fabio Diletti.

Roma Academy Maryland, in collaboration with the teaching staff from FIGC and CONI Servizi, has created a new project, “Sports Culture”, which aims to promote Italian player development, language, and culture. AC Cugini President Fabio Diletti commented, “Providing a friendly environment for all, our focus is on developing young players to reach their highest potential and goals, whether at the professional or college level (in the United States or in Italy), or just for fun. The project also provides unique international cross-cultural opportunities, training and playing with the best clubs in Italy, and exposure to a new language.”

Roma Academy Maryland Director Oman added, “This unique opportunity for Frederick area players will create boys and girls teams to play at the elite academy level. Therefore, we are looking for players with the passion for the game who will ensure the success of this project. Roma Academy Maryland will provide the community with professional, high-quality international programming affordable to all. Passion and commitment are the answers to success.”
