With the 2015 Rael Vodicka WAGS Tournament quickly approaching, SoccerWire.com has started an article series previewing the top divisions for the showcase age groups. See below for a look at the U-17 Showcase I Division.

Tampa Bay United Premier 98 (FL)
Coach: James Cote
Sunshine State powerhouse Tampa Bay United claimed the US Youth Soccer State Cup and US Club Soccer Florida Cup titles in Spring 2015, both culminating in 1-0 shutouts of Florida Kraze Krush. TBU is also coming off a division championship at the Disney Showcase, one of the nation’s most prestigious tournaments. A few of the team’s key players include 2015 Region III ODP selections Maddison Krstec at forward and defender Paige Liebel (University of Connecticut 2017), as well as Allyssa Woodring, who led the team with 2 goals at the US Youth Soccer Region III Championships.
Annandale United FC (VA)
Coach: Ann Germain
Region I finalist and Virginia State Cup semifinalist Annandale United FC is also coming off division titles at the DMV Premier Cup and PWSI President’s Day College Showcase, and a second place finish in the 2015 Region I Champions League. A few of the team’s key players include 2015 Region I ODP selections Jisca Adigo at forward and goalkeeper Jessica Berlin, as well as Cayla Davis and Madison Lockamy, who led Annandale with two goals each at the Region I Championships.
Davis Legacy 99 Red (CAN)
Coach: Mark Torguson
Blue Cup 2015 champion and winner of the Northern California National Premier League (NPL), Davis Legacy has consistently proven itself as one of the top teams in the nation. Legacy reached the Premier Division final at the renowned Davis Legacy College Showcase over the summer, and the semifinals of the Northern California Spring Showcase in March. Region IV ODP selection Ele Avery and dynamic goal scorer Mia Root (San Diego State 2017 commit) are among the team’s leaders offensively.
FC Virginia ECNL 98 (VA)
Coach: Christian Cziommer
Off to another hot start this season, FC Virginia placed second in the ECNL Chesapeake Division in 2014-2015. FCV is coming off a Disney Soccer Showcase Premier Black Division title, a run to the Jefferson Cup Championship Division semifinal and a first place finish in the Showcase II Division at the 2014 WAGS Tournament. Virginia Tech 2016 commit Lillian Weber led the FCV attack with 8 goals and 3 assists last season, while University of Georgia 2017 commit Ashley Anderson scored 6 goals and added 1 assist. Defender Susanna Weisskopf – a 2016 Longwood University commit – led the squad with 4 assists.
Vincent United F.C. Crush (PAE)
Coach: Craig Reed
Pennsylvania East State Cup finalist Vincent United F.C. Crush has captured MSSL Summer Showcase, Spring EDP Cup, National Elite Women’s Soccer Showcase (NEWSS) and WAGS Tournament division titles all in the past year. United has also reached the semifinals of the MSSL Spring College Showcase and the finals of the Orange Classic International Girls Soccer Tournament in that span. Division I college commits Dakota Graham (St. Francis University) and Reilly McGinnis (U.S. Military Academy – West Point) are among the team’s key players in the midfield.
Vienna Youth Soccer Thunder Black (VA)
Coach: Nadir Moumen
OBGC Capital Cup, Annandale Premier Cup and Generation Adidas Bethesda Tournament champion VYS Thunder Black recently reached the finals of the EDP Open Cup and placed sixth in the highly competitive Region I Champions League Division 1 Blue. The team placed second in the WAGS High School Premier Division 1 as a U-16 squad in Fall 2014. Caroline Grundy and Camryn Conklin are among the key players on Vienna’s dynamic offense.
Pipeline SC Black (MD)
Coach: Jason Muffoletto
Pipeline captured the 2014 WAGS Tournament U-16 Showcase Division and will seek to repeat in the top U-17 flight this season. The team placed fifth in the Region I Champions League Division 1 Blue during the Spring 2015 season and reached the final of the Jefferson Cup Elite Black Division.
North Atlanta SA 17 Elite (GA)
Coach: Eric Ritter
After winning the 2015 George State Cup title, NASA made a run all the way to the US Youth Soccer Region III semifinals, where they were eventually defeated 4-2 by Tennessee side Collierville 99 Lady Lobos Rush. Forward Kendall Baker and defender Bailey Peacock have been selected for the 1998 and 1999 Region III ODP roster pools. Midfielder Casey Wertz has verbally committed to the University of Alabama. Class of 2018 forward Elizabeth Mayfield led NASA with 5 goals in the 2014-2015 US Youth Soccer National League, in which the team finished 6th in the Red Division.
Loudoun 98 Red (VA)
Coach: Randy May
Loudoun enjoyed a Virginia State Cup title in Fall 2014 and a semifinal run at the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships in Spring 2015. Allyson Brown led the team with 4 goals during the 2014-2015 US Youth Soccer National League season, as Loudoun earned a third place finish in the U-16 Blue Division. In the 2014-2015 Club Champions League campaign, Loudoun went unbeaten with a 13-0-2 record, helping the club earn a second straight overall club championship.
United Futbol Academy 99 Premier (GA)
Coach: Ignace Moleka
UFA placed seventh in the Southern Region Premier League East in Fall 2014, and won the 2015 Adidas Women’s Elite Showcase U-16 top division. The Georgia State Cup and Disney Soccer Showcase Premier Red Division semifinalists finished third in Bracket 4 of the U-16 Showcase Division at the 2014 WAGS Tournament.
Delaware Rush 98 Girls (DE)
Coach: Keith Keomanikhoth
Reigning State Cup champion Delaware Rush took the Championship Division title at the 2014 PA Classics Winter College Showcase and placed third in the 2015 Region I Champions League. The team finished as semifinalists at the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region I Championships and in the Jefferson Cup Elite Black Division as well. Casey Bell led Rush with two goals at Regionals. Rush placed second in Bracket 4 of the WAGS Tournament U-16 Showcase Division, going 2-0-1 and finishing one goal behind Annandale United FC on the tiebreaker.
Council Rock United FC Bucks Storm NPL (PAE)
Coach: Dan Mannella
Pennsylvania East State Cup champion FC Bucks Storm captured a Federal Division title at the 2014 Generation Adidas Bethesda Tournament and reached the final of the 2015 Jefferson Cup Classic Division. The fourth place side from the NPL Northeast Girls League Fall 2014-2015 season also advanced to the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships, where they went 1-0-2 to finish second in Group D behind only Delaware Rush, whom they will face in Bracket 3 at the WAGS Tournament. Kennedy Peace led Bucks with 3 goals at Regionals.
