WAGS: Spring U-14 Division 1 champions ASA Azzurri start strong in fall campaign

The Under-14 ASA Azzurri, who won the spring 2012 Washington Area Girls Soccer League Under-13 Division 1 title with eight wins and a tie in nine games, are off to a perfect start to their fall 2012 season.

ASA Azzurri (2-0-0) have won their two games by a combined 9-0 score, including a 5-0 win Sunday over NVSC Jr. Majestics. In the spring, ASA Azzurri went 8-0-1, scoring 21 goals while giving up just two. In its two games this season, ASA Azzurri are outscoring opponents 9-0, including a 5-0 win over NVSC Jr. Majestics 98.

Another team off to a strong start is the U-12 Alliance SC Premier 00s, who have won their first four matches by a combined 16-1. In the team’s last three matches, they have scored no fewer than five goals.

In High School Division 1 play LMVS Patriots have started the season at 2-0-0, outscoring opponents 11-2; last fall they went 1-5-2 overall.

Two teams have started strong to open the U-18 Division 4 season–ASC Galaxy and VYS Fusion have opened with 2-0-0 records, while ODFC Clash opened their season with a 4-0 win over Arlington Blast.

In a battle of the top two teams in U-17 Division 2, Herndon Comets White and FASA Premiere Impact 96 played to a 1-1 tie. Both teams are tied atop the standings at 1-0-1.

SYA Cardinals 96 won their second game of the season in U-16 Division 4, defeating Stafford Revolution 96G White 1-0. In U-15 Division 1, FSC Xtreme are off to a 2-0-0 start after a 4-1 win over ASC Wolves.
