Six named finalists for 2013 MAC Hermann Trophy

KANSAS CTY, Kan. – Three men and three women have been selected as finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club’s (MAC) Hermann Trophy.

Both 2012 MAC Hermann winners have been named 2013 finalists: Maryland senior forward Patrick Mullins (New Orleans) and North Carolina senior midfielder Crystal Dunn (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).

The other men’s finalists are Notre Dame senior forward Harrison Shipp (Lake Forest, Ill.), and UCLA junior midfielder Leo Stolz (Munich, Germany).

The women’s finalists include Virginia junior midfielder Morgan Brian (St. Simons Island, Ga.) and UCLA junior defender Abby Dahlkemper (Menlo Park, Calif.).

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the highest individual intercollegiate soccer award presented annually during a banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. This year the banquet will take place Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.

NCAA Division I coaches that are NSCAA College Services members voted for their top choices from the list of 15 men and 15 women named semifinalists last Tuesday. Soccer fans were also encouraged to vote for their favorite player on the MAC’s website hosted by LockerDome. The six semifinalists were the top vote-getters from the combined NSCAA coaches and weighted fan votes.
