FC Richmond star and U.S. Under-15 National Team member Nick Taitague has been summoned to England for a trial with Manchester United.
One of the top 1999-born prospects in the United States, Taitague is a winger/attacking midfielder with excellent technique and imagination. He attends James River High School in Midlothian, Va.
Taitague earned plaudits for his displays during the U.S. U-14 and U-15 training camp conducted by coach Hugo Perez in Southern California last month, and was brought along to the Copa Mexico de Naciones tournament as one of three underage players.
He looks like a leading candidate to be called into the federation’s Bradenton Residency program for the nation’s top U-17 players — unless he is offered a place in the youth academy system of Manchester United or another large European club first.
Taitague’s success drew the attention of Richmond television station NBC12, who featured him in a video segment about his opportunity overseas.
