If a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League finals isn’t enough to raise tension between Toronto FC and Santos Laguna, the end of the first leg most definitely will.
Emotions likely will be high for tomorrow’s second leg in Torreon, Mexico, after last Wednesday’s 1-1 draw in Toronto that had two ejections and ended with both benches emptying in a post-game fracas that saw a head butt and plenty of pushing and shoving.
“I don’t know how much you guys know about our home crowd and the city we live in, but it’s probably not the smartest idea picking a dogfight,” Santos striker Herculez Gomez said. “Yeah, we’ll see what happens.”
