Top Disney Boys Soccer Showcase U-17, U-18 brackets revealed

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Via Disney) – Thirty-two teams have been selected for the top U-17 and U-18 divisions of the Disney Boys Soccer Showcase, following the inaugural broadcast of the Disney Soccer Showcase Selection Show. shown Wednesday night on ESPN3. During the program, ESPN broadcasters Drew Fellios and Eddie Rodriguez discussed teams competing in the Showcase Division.

The U17 Showcase Division features three teams from Ohio, while Maryland, New Jersey, Texas and Canada each checked in with two teams:

Disney Soccer Showcase, an elite youth soccer event, annually attracts the top high school-aged soccer players from around the country to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. Additionally, the Disney Soccer Showcase is recognized as the premier college recruiting event in the nation, attracting more than 20,000 athletes, fans and scouts each year. In 2016, 424 coaches from 324 colleges and universities – including top Division I programs like North Carolina (Chapel Hill), Wake Forest, Maryland, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Duke – attended tournament games. Disney Soccer Showcase provides youth soccer players the unique opportunity to play in front of prominent collegiate head coaches such as Ray Reid (Connecticut), Carlos Somoano (North Carolina), Todd Yeagley (Indiana), Bob Warming (Penn State), Bobby Muuss (Wake Forest) and Sasho Cirovski (Maryland).

The tournaments feature more than 600 teams and 11,000 athletes each year. This year, the boys and girls events will take place over separate weekends. The girls will play November 23-26; the boys are in action December 27-31.
