SoccerWire.com Best 11 Players for September 2016

SoccerWire.com readers cast more than 10,000 votes to select the Best 11 youth players during September 2016, recognizing top performances from the Club Champions League, ECNL, WPSL, OBGC Capital Cup and the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

A total of 30 players were on the ballot, with McLean Youth Soccer Green U-19 Girls forward Maddy Anderson leading the way with over 2,800 votes. In the first two games of CCL league play, Maddy led McLean to a win and a draw with a trifecta of goals over the two matches. Her two-goal performance against Arlington led McLean to a 2-0 victory while her last-minute strike against FC Richmond secured a 2-2 draw to keep her team unbeaten.

Rounding out the top five were FC Virginia Pre-ECNL forward Ava Galligan, who netted four goals in a win over Ohio Elite, and Maggie Pierce, who at 14 years old was a key player for Oak City Futbol Club during their WPSL season.

The full list of players in this month’s voting was composed of all players submitted by coaches, technical directors and SoccerWire.com staff on the site’s ‘Players That Impressed’ feature, where any player submitted by a team or club coach has their outstanding performance recognized.
