The Red Bulls picked up where they left off in the second half with a well-worked team goal that was converted after a good spell of possession. The move finished with Sean Teixeria’s cross to Barry Sharifi who made no mistake with his finish.

Sharifi would turn provider moments later when his through ball played in the ever dangerous Saramago behind the Bolts defense for his hat trick. Saramago made a powerful run inside the Bolts penalty area and showed composure on the finish.

FC Boston Bolts scored on the 68th minute to deny Matthew Rosenberg the shutout who was making his first start of the season in the Red Bulls goal.

New York picked up their level to close out the game. Saramago scored from Jared Gilbey’s free kick on the 75thminute, followed by another good combination with Sharifi to score his fifth of the game and Red Bulls’ sixth.

“After playing to a scoreless draw the week before we made it a priority to take our chances this week and put the game to rest early,” Man of the Match Brian Saramago said. “It was nice to get on the scoresheet, but the most important thing was getting the three points. The team played great this week and hopefully we could carry this momentum into what will be a big game against a good Montreal side.”

“At half-time we talked about playing quicker and competing on every play,” Man of the Match Danny Ramm said. “[World Class] did a good job in the first half of making it hard for us to establish a rhythm.”

Second half substitute Samory Powder sparked the Red Bulls to life with the first of his assists in the 62ndminute, when he played a ball over the top of the World Class defense as they were stepping out. Ramm then received the pass and then curled in a right-footed shot into the opposite corner of the goal.

However, the lead was short lived as another Red Bulls error led to World Class taking the lead in the 66thminute.

Met Oval’s chances were limited as the Red Bulls enjoyed most of the possession, but could not manage to create many good chances of their own in the first half.

At the start of the second half, the Red Bulls showed more energy, but would once again concede early off a Met Oval counter attack.

However, New York continued to dominate in possession and began to create many goal-scoring opportunities, but could not find the back of the net. The Red Bulls managed to finally put away two goals from good build up and combination play, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
