New England Premiership completes first wave of 2017 State Cups

(Via US Club Soccer) – The older age groups from three of five 2017 New England Premiership State Cups have been decided, as those teams now look ahead to the National Cup XVI Finals in Indiana in late July.

2017 Connecticut Cup winners:

  • 18-U boys: GPS Black Rock FC ’99
  • 19-U boys: GPS Black Rock FC ’98

2017 Massachusetts Cup winners:

  • 18-U boys: GPS-MA NPL ’99
  • 18-U girls: NEFC Breakers 98/99 NPL
  • 19-U boys: Aztecs ’98 NPL
  • 19-U girls: FC Stars ECNL Composite 98/99

2017 Rhode Island Cup winners:

  • 18/19-U boys: Bruno United FC ’98 NPL
  • 18/19-U girls: Bayside FC Bolts 98/99 NPL

The older age groups for Maine and New Hampshire, as well as the younger age groups for all five state championships, will be decided on competition dates of June 4 and 10-11. Schedules and results can be found here.

The National Cup XVI Finals, July 21-24 at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., is the culminating event of US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship series. Last year, qualifiers from the 2016 NEP State Cups made a large impact on the National Cup XV Finals in Colorado. Thirty-nine teams came from the New England Premiership with 14 playing championship games and eight ultimately winning national titles.
