At PG Young Boys Soccer Co-op we have always prided ourselves with finding ways to increase the technical skill of our players, after all if you cannot control the ball, how much fun can you have playing soccer?
When players want to stand out in competitive soccer, all other things being equal, Soccer IQ, and the ability to score can separate a player from the pack. This goes for every player on the field (with the exception of the goalkeeper). Scoring goals and creating chances is what draws people to the game, and coaches to players.
We are starting a Friday night “Soccer IQ,Shooting and Finishing Clinic” it will begin on March 24th and run on 4 consecutive Fridays.
The clinic is designed to teach players how and when to shoot with both feet. Each player will take between 50-100 shots per session.
We will also be teaching players out of a book that has helped our players to get smarter on the field called “Soccer IQ: Things That Smart Players Do, Vol. 1” by Dan Blank.
Our hope is that parents will read the book, so they can increase “Soccer IQ” as well.
We are limiting the number of registrants to 25, but please purchase the book and read with your players, even if you do not attend the clinic.
