UMBC women set to compete in George Mason Tournament
UMBC women’s soccer travels to Fairfax, Va., for the George Mason Tournament over Labor Day weekend for matchups against Appalachian State and UNC Wilmington. The Retrievers open the tournament versus the Mountaineers on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and close out action on Sunday, Sept. 6 at noon against the Seahawks at George Mason Stadium.
William & Mary women’s soccer falls 2-0 at No. 21 Duke
The William & Mary women’s soccer team dropped a hard fought contest 2-0 at No. 21 Duke on Sunday night. With the decision the Tribe suffers its first loss of 2015 and falls to 3-1-0, while the Blue Devils improve 3-0-1 on the season.
Virginia Tech, Tennessee women play to 1-1 draw
Virginia Tech and Tennessee played to 1-1 draw in double overtime on Sunday night in non-conference women’s soccer at Thompson Field in Blacksburg. The ninth-ranked Hokies are now 3-0-1 on the season, while the Volunteers are 1-0-3 overall.
Towson women blank Villanova 1-0 in first victory of 2015
Playing as a unit for a full 90 minutes, the Towson University women’s soccer team posted its first win of the young season, topping visiting Villanova University 1-0 Sunday afternoon, thanks to late goal in the first half from junior Natalia Pinkney and key saves in goal from Taylor Sebolao.
UMBC women’s soccer opens doubleheader vs. George Mason on Friday
UMBC women’s soccer looks to pick up its first victory of the 2015 season on Friday, Aug. 28 when it opens a UMBC soccer doubleheader at Retriever Soccer Park with a 5 p.m. matchup against George Mason. The Retriever men take on Fairfield in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m.

The VMI Keydets set new Southern Conference records for goals, points and assists, had 12 different players tally at least one point and defeated the Hampton Lady Pirates, 16-0, in non-conference women's soccer action Tuesday at VMI's Patchin Field.
UMBC women’s soccer battles to double-overtime draw against Bucknell, 1-1
UMBC women’s soccer’s eliminated a one-goal first-half deficit as sophomore midfielder Gabby Boehmer tallied her second goal of the season to help send the Retrievers’ home opener into overtime. UMBC finished the day with 17 shots, but were unable to put away the go-ahead score, picking up a 1-1 double-overtime draw in non-conference action against Bucknell on Sunday afternoon at Retriever Soccer Park.
