    FIFA president Sepp Blatter suddenly resigns amid corruption scandal
    Embattled FIFA President Sepp Blatter has resigned amid the organization's latest corruption scandal, six days after the U.S. Department of Justice and Swiss law enforcement officials unsealed a raft of corruption, fraud and money-laundering indictments against high-ranking officials in FIFA, soccer’s global governing body. The resignation comes just four days after Blatter, 78, was re-elected President despite some 47 indictments brought down on nine FIFA officials and other affiliated parties.

    This weekend in Potomac area U.S. Soccer Development Academy action, Baltimore Bays hosted PA Classics in club-wide competition, D.C. United U-15/16 got back inside the playoff bubble with a win over Continental FC DELCO and Soccer Association of Columbia hosted Prince William Courage in the U-13/14 age group.

    The U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team defeated its counterparts from England 2-1 to win the Four Nations Tournament in Norway with a 2-0-1 record.
