OMG! What a Goal! Beckham does it again
Are we really surprised?
We’ve seen a number of highlight-reel goals from David Beckham over the years, many on exquisite free kicks and others in the run of play, but a number of people are calling his first goal in the first half of the LA Galaxy’s 5-3 win over Portland a candidate for MLS goal of the year.
I mean, give Beckham enough time and space and he can do something like this:
A number of people have called this goal against Portland last Saturday a candidate for 2012 MLS goal of the year. Do you agree?
Said Beckham: “I got the ball from Keane, he won the ball back and laid it back to me. They stepped off of me and so I thought ‘why not.’ The last time I scored a goal like that was for Manchester United against Deportivo [La Caruna], it was very similar to that. I was happy with it, but I’m more happy with the team’s performance tonight because I think we showed our character. I think we showed that when we pass the ball around we can go through teams.”
FYI, his second goal in the match, off one of his signature free kicks, wasn’t so bad either.
